Are you a post-graduate student on a programme in Counselling, Psychotherapy or Counselling Psychology struggling with the research process? I have been supervising and examining research students for many years, and I can support you in this challenging process.
I am actively engaged in current research and have worked for many years as an academic researcher in developmental psychology and, more recently, in counselling and psychotherapy. Please see my recent writing and presentations below. You may also know me by my informal name, Marita.
My research supervision and writing support can help you in three ways. Firstly, I can help you develop a research question and research design. Additionally, I can support you with the data collection and analysis stage. Finally, I can offer support with academic writing. Many people find it difficult to write authentically about their research outcomes whilst reflecting on their own positioning within the research. Traditional research methods teaching means that people often regard the process from an objective standpoint. I will help you to examine the interpretation of the data whilst utilising your own experience.
I work mainly with reflexive qualitative methodologies, including Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Additionally, I am a skilled researcher in quantitative methods and can support your use of these methodologies or a mixed method approach.
I have experience in supporting researchers to publish the outcomes of their work and have successfully assisted them in this process. I am very enthusiastic about research and will hopefully engage you with my enthusiasm for enquiry.
I currently work as an external examiner and an associate lecturer, and may need to discuss any potential conflicts of interest with you regarding the institution in which you are based.
Central Cambridge Location
My research supervision is mainly conducted online; however, if you would prefer to meet me face-to-face, I can offer that flexibility. The location in Cambridge is at 10c St Edward’s Passage, just off King’s Parade in Cambridge. The counselling room is a delightful setting in the heart of Cambridge, providing a discreet and confidential space for you to come and see me.
I am very happy to talk with you, in complete confidence, about what you are looking for to complete your research journey.
Please contact me to arrange a free initial, confidential phone call.
I offer concession rates for all students or counselling trainees.
