Therapy for Anxiety in Cambridge

If you are feeling anxious, it can sometimes seem as if you are the only one feeling this way, whilst others seem better equipped to cope with life stressors. If life feels like a struggle and you feel burdened by anxiety, then my therapeutic approach can help you.

I specialise in working as an anxiety therapist with people in Cambridge and the surrounding areas. I work with many clients, particularly young adults, students, academics, and researchers. I also support people through early life transitions and crises.

Please contact me to have an initial free chat about your anxiety issues.

My Approach

My integrative approach draws particularly upon person-centred therapy. I use a range of skills to work with your issue. We cannot change past events in our lives, but we can choose how we think about them and how they affect us at present.

My aim is not to keep clients in long-term therapy when it is not needed, but to help you gain a greater understanding of your anxiety. Additionally, I help clients develop strategies that will help them manage anxiety when they finish therapy.

If you’re feeling an overwhelming sense of fear and dread, you may be experiencing anxiety. Feelings of churning stomach, excessive sweating and heart pounding can be signs of acute anxiety.

Central Cambridge Location

The location at 10c St Edward’s Passage, is just off King’s Parade in Cambridge. The counselling room is a delightful setting in the heart of Cambridge, providing a discreet and confidential space for you to come and see me.

I am very happy to talk with you, in complete confidence, about what you are looking for and how your needs can best be addressed.

Understanding Anxiety

If you are struggling in an academic environment, the anxiety can feel even more difficult. Cambridge can feel like a challenging place to study and live at times, and I understand the difficulties of this. I have worked for many years with students and staff from academic environments in Cambridge and other Universities and Colleges.

Anxiety can be hard to manage – I understand the challenges anxiety brings to daily life. Anxiety is what we feel when we are worried or afraid. If you’re feeling an overwhelming sense of fear and dread, you may be experiencing anxiety.

Most people feel anxious during stressful times in their lives, such as when they have to make big decisions. When anxiety becomes out of control, it can lead to a huge stress build-up, and we can feel in a permanent state of stress alert, which means it becomes impossible to ‘switch off’.

If this feels familiar and you feel unable to talk about your anxiety with colleagues, friends and family, this can make the feelings much worse.

Please contact me to arrange a free initial, confidential phone call.

I offer concession rates for all students or counselling trainees.
